The next day, upon getting into work, I loaded up my laptop ready to work on the audio for the video, only to find that the video did not exist on my laptop anymore! Slightly concerned, I was happy to see I still had the Video Pad project file still on my computer, and that I could re-export the video, which despite being a time waster, was a relief. Upon opening the project however, I saw that the project was incomplete, lacking entire segments of the video that had taken a long time to compile originally! Suddenly, after a brief moment of concern, God brought back to mind the fact He had had me pack the external hard drive! He then reminded me that I had done all my work on the video, including exporting the final version, on my external hard drive! Thank God that I listened to Him and brought that hard drive! If I had not, I would have had no video at all to do the sound design on, or even might have had to re-edit portions of the video!
This just goes to prove what God has shown me many times in my life: He cares about everything in my life, not just the big “ministry” items.
I remember one time going to retrieve an item I had accidentally left in our family car, so that I could bring it into the house. On the way to do such a simple task, the Holy Spirit stopped me, and prompted me to pray to ask God about which door of the car to open. That may sound petty, and to some of you, that might even sound ridiculous, but God knows all, and as usual, knew something I didn't. God asked me to open the door to the car that was opposite to where I would the objet I was retrieving would be. I thought to myself, “Could something so silly sounding be God?” to which God responded, “There have been many times that what I asked people to do, seemed silly.” I couldn't argue with that. After all, I imagine Ol' Moses felt silly holding a stick up to part the Red Sea.
So I opened the door that he asked me to open, and to my surprise I noticed the window on that door was open! Seeing that it was likley to rain that night, I rolled up the window, retrieved my item from the car, and then closed the door. I, thinking nothing of it, was again stopped by the Holy Spirit for a chat.
“See, had you not opened the door I directed you to, your Mom's car would have gotten rain in it tonight.” He said.
I just stood there for a moment, with a smile growing across my face.
“Man, that was so cool. The Holy Spirit is so amazing” I thought. How true, how true.
So today, as we remember that God wants to be a part of our every action and thought in life, why not ask Him to show you things, lead you, and to guide you? Even, in the little things.
God bless! :)
