What book of the Bible has taught you the most this month?
Interestingly enough my answer is the same as Ashley's, “Proverbs.” I was reading through it, and like Ashley, found a lot of wisdom there. Go figure eh? It's cool because my buddy Tyler just read through it too, and I didn't know until we had both already started!
How would you react if you were in the positions of either Esther, if you’re a girl, or Daniel, if you’re a guy?
I'd like to say I would do the right thing, like they did, but I couldn't say until I was actually in their position. I think Daniel was wise to pray through the experience. I'd definitely be praying if I were in either of their shoes (or sandals).
If you could have a book character for a sibling, who would it be, and what makes you two alike?
Now this is an original question for sure. Um, wow. Honestly I'm not a huge reader, so I don't think I have a wealth of characters to choose from. Does the Bible count for the purposes of this question? If so I would choose Jesus. And what makes us alike is having the same Heavenly Father. If I couldn't choose the Bible, then I would choose Justin from The Circle Trilogy by Ted Dekker, since Justin basically represents Jesus in that series. What do we have in common? See above.
How would you most likely spend your Friday night?Hanging out with my Mom, video calling my best friend Tyler, or editing audio drama or audio productions, and likely posting a blog post (like this one you are reading right now).
What are the top three books you’re just "dying" to read?
I can't say that I am dying to read anything. But I am looking forward to reading Joshua (in the Bible) since I just finished reading through Deuteronmy, and am looking forward to the change of pace of Joshua (being the first book not written through Moses).
Can you briefly share the story behind your blog’s name?
Technically no. Haha. Well, I mean my blog doesn't really have a name. You could call it “Christopher's Blog” or “These are the things I think about.” or “Christ Bearer” and all of those would be the right name in a sense. The phrase “these are the things I am thinking about” is an inside joke with my sisters where I share something on my mind, and then end it with me saying “these are the things I think about” in a goofy voice. “Christ Bear” comes from my url www.christbearer.ca which came about because I wanted to get a more professional looking domain (as opposed to the default name address the blog provider gives). Any variation of my name (Christopher Green) had already been used by other people in domains, so I just used the meaning of my name. My first name is Greek*, and it means “Christ bearer” (and in case you are curious, no, I am not Greek, but my name is). That describes who I am, and who all Christians are. In a way, we are all meant to be “Christophers”.
What do you consider to be your blog’s “branding,” or signature? What sets your blog or social media platform apart from others?
I guess I am what sets my blog apart. No one else is putting out a blog hosted by me, ha ha. I have a unique and frank way of looking at things, in my opinion. I like to discuss how God shows up in our everyday lives, and just share what I think. I think a lot of bloggers try to be too professional about things, and my blog can stick out sometimes because I like to be more upfront and unpolished, to a degree. One thing I have heard often is that I interact with my commentators more than other blogs. I have experienced this too. I find a lot of bloggers rarely reply to comments, if at all. To me, a blog is a conversational, and the post is the starting point for the conversation. If people aren't replying to comments, there is no point having a comment section.
Who are a few of your favourite bloggers?
I actually don't read a lot of other people's blogs. Crazy right? I am just generally too busy. I do tend to read blogs from people who have commented on my blog though, or I know through other means. Christopher164 www.christopher164.weebly.com (who has a great name by the way) is one I read a fair deal, and he actually partly inspired my blog. Go check him out! I also read Ashley Nicole's creative cards blog when I can http://colorfulcreativecards.blogspot.ca/
If you could go on a road trip of your dreams, where would you go and who would you spend time with?
Just as a humourous thought, I noticed that in Nicole's answer, she said “Scotland”. I am not sure how to take a road trip to Scotland if you live in North America. :P Myself, I would probably travel across Canada with my family (and if possible, my buddy Tyler). I think that would be a lot of fun.
Using five words or less, tell a story.
Once upon, middle, the end.
OH BY THE WAY!
