According to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel (known here commonly as CBC/The CBC) "Trudeau will grace the variant cover of issue No. 5 of Marvel's 'Civil War II: Choosing Sides,' due out Aug. 31."
Putting his politics aside (and it's no secret I disagree with his politics) I have to say I still find him being on Marvel Comic cover a really unusual choice. Liberals are probably excited, and while I'm not against the idea exactly, I am confused as to WHY this is "a thing".
If you are Canadian, you can imagine the Liberal outcry if Stephan Harper had gotten into Marvel Comics. Admittedly, Prime Minster Trudeau looks the part more than Mr. Harper did. However I would argue Mr. Harper was much more of a "super hero" than Mr. Trudeau has been.
Mr. Trudeau on the other hand has focused on trying to strengthen, already overbearing and sweepingly ambiguous, hate speech laws (which can be used to limit free speech), pulling Canada out of the the global fight against terror, giving a lot of talk about equality and trying to make everyone happy instead of creating practical policies about safety, jobs and global responsibility.
I don't want to rain on the parade of a fellow Canadian who happily got his chance to have some fun by being on a comic book cover, but I do want to point out, with respect, that our Prime Minister has a ways to go to become a super hero. Heroes are people who make a difference through action, not simply talk.
Though, I want you to know, Mr. Trudeau, I am praying for you to become a hero in our country, who follows God in leading Canada in the right direction.
