Long time readers of my blog may remember that I work for a newspaper, and at said newspaper I occasionally make local history videos called There's No Time Like The Past. Well, I have just put out another such video about a local train line that used to run through a few of our little local towns. I'm pretty happy with it, so I thought I would share it with you all. :) Let me know what you think! God bless, In Christ, Christopher Green

Ta-da!
So I finally made my first vlog Q&A! I decided it would be best to do one video per question, because I like to chatter away and ramble, and that's a big part of who The Real Me is. So initially commentator Ty's question was the first I was going to answer. And since I had already planned to video call my good buddy Tyler (Ty himself) that day, I thought we may as well do his question together. Then we had so much fun he became my co-host for the rest of the questions! I think talking with him helped me to keep these videos as natural as possible, so you could really get to know The Really Me. It's amazing what God can do if you stay open to His leading, and if you stay open when He has you interact with other people too.
Recently I walked into the bank and noticed the teller who was assiting me had a very nice sweater. So I said to her, “I like your sweater!” “Oh, thank you!” she replied, “My mother gave it to me. I saw her last weekend and she said I would likely wear it more than her, so to keep it.” She stopped to look at the banking information I handed her, in a less jovial manner stated, “I went to see her because she is ill. I saw her in the hospital.” That's when Jesus elbowed me. “Is she doing alright now though?” I asked. “No. She is comfortable though.” she said, with a brave face, indicating her mother was passing on. “Well, I'll say a prayer for her.” I offered, not knowing whether it would be met with a raised eyebrow, or a grateful reply. Fortunately, grattitude was the result. “Thank you!” she said. And although she didn't become overtly emotional, God made it apparent to my spirit, that that offer to pray meant a lot to her. How many times have you passed up these oppurunities? Have you ever felt that “elbow from Jesus” to offer to pray for someone, but you passed it by because of fear or wanting to “fit in, in society”. When you are tempted this way, just remember who else didn't fit in with society in the Bible: Jesus. Jesus didn't fit in when the pharisees wanted Him to be quiet. He didn't fit in when the people wanted Him to overthrow Rome, or to become their Prophetic Fast Food Server (see John 6:25-66). While being social devient for the sake of social deviance is wrong, or misguided at best, and being different from your society doesn't mean you're inline with the Lord, Jesus was considered quite socially deviant because He acted in accordance with the Truth. When in reality, everyone else around was socially deviant, not the other way around. Remember that to deviat is to go off the desired mark, in this case, God's. Just because everyone around acts one way, does not make that way normal. Let's not forget that in Noah's day, only eight people were saved and God destroyed everyone else for their deviance from His ways. I'm sure those around Noah thought his views were “antiquated”, “politically incorrect” and “just plain weird”. In reality, everyone else was weird. So today, I ask you to please stay open to the Lord, and keep yourself open to Him and those who He would have you be open too. You might be surprised what happens! God bless, In Christ, Christopher Green Have you every offered to pray for someone or felt that “elbow from Jesus”? What happened? |
I'm a lover of Jesus, and he has called me to love and obey Him. One of the ways He has me do that, is by glorifying Him through media.
